Can Wearing Wide Shoes Make You Look 5 Pounds Ligher?
Women's wide shoes are necessary sometimes due to abnormally shaped feet or special sizes. Unfortunately we often see many fashion mistakes in a woman's choice of footwear. We recognize that comfortable shoes are important but also understand that it's difficult to find shoes that are flattering as well as comfortable. If you use some of these basic fashion tips, you can walk into a party looking like you lost 5 pounds over night.
Women's shoes come in a variety of large and small sizes. They are also made in wide widths and narrow widths. If your goal is to look slim and trim then it doesn't matter what size shoes you wear. What does matter is what kind of shoes you wear. What we really want to do is give the appearance of height, grace, elegance and slenderness. You can accomplish all this with the right choice of flattering stylish shoes.
One of the first things you should know is that squared toed and large heels do not help give the appearance you want. When a woman wears thick heels or square toes it makes her legs appear thicker and heavier than they really are. It shortens her over-all appearance as well.
So what about stilettos? Believe it or not, super pointy toed heels can have the opposite effect than what you think they may have. They can destroy that sleek look that you may be trying to achieve. If you have thicker legs, then the contrast from stilettos will make your legs appear heavier. This is exactly what we want to avoid.
There are different styles of shoes that can be considered slimming accessories. Make sure to look at styles like simple pumps with a low cut front. Footwear that is designed with a streamlined front is ideal to create a long, graceful looking leg which will help you look taller and slimmer.
Let's talk about the vamp which is the area of the shoe that crosses the top of women's feet. If you're going to be wearing dresses or skirts, then this next part is important. Avoid shoes that have high horizontal vamps. You want to wear shoes that have a V-shape vamp to help give you that long leg look.
Always keep in mind that heels with slim shapes will make you appear taller and more elegantly dressed while dressed in evening attire. When looking for shoes, look for pumps or slingbacks with low vamps to give off that long leg look. It doesn't matter if your shoes are wide widths or narrow widths. If you remember these basic tips then you will appear more graceful, elegant and thinner as you make your entrance into any crowded room.
